EMIP Description and Objective

The joint ground systems Enterprise Market Investigation Process (EMIP) is a multi-phased and ongoing type of market research sponsored by the Program Executive Office Combat Support & Combat Service Support. It involves conducting periodic technology demonstrations that educate government representatives in advanced technologies at the component or subsystem (not end item) level. EMIP provides an opportunity for vendors to identify to the government industry's investments in advanced technologies for potential insertion into and improvement of Army and Marine Corps ground systems.* Technologies accepted for demonstration have achieved Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6 or better (see TRL section for definitions).

* See the respective websites for ground systems managed by these organizations. (Links)

Disclaimer:
All EMIP demonstrations are both optional and at the expense of the commercial applicant. Invitation by the government to demonstrate a technology in no way expresses or implies an obligation by the government to purchase or otherwise acquire the items demonstrated or displayed. EMIP is not a source selection process but a means to identify industry's technology investments through the market research process.

EMIP does not have a funding line to implement demonstrated technologies. Upon completion of the demonstrations, EMIP can only refer promising technologies to other government departments that may make an internal decision to pursue the technology further.
